One of our local heroes, Cindy Kerr, started ConKerr Cancer after it was discovered that her son had cancer in 2002. She began making pillowcases for him to brighten up his stays during chemo treatment. Chester County Family Academy, located in West Chester, Pa decided to lend a sewing hand and made pillowcases for terminally ill children. They have done this for the past 2 years and as a thank you Cindy Kerr took the students to the Please Touch Museum. WhirlAway Travel owner, Patty Jefferis has the pleasure of getting to know these wonderful students by reading to them every week.
WhirlAway sponsored 18 children this year to have their eyes screened during the annual Breakfast with Santa through the West Chester Lions Club.
